This week, the world's best beach volleyball players are competing on the Danube Island of Vienna for the FIVB - International Volleyball Federation's 2017 Beach Volleyball World Championships (Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series). Austria’s sport highlight of the summer features 48 teams of women and men fighting for the prestigious gold, silver and bronze medals.

Held in the second largest arena in the world, around 100,000 spectators are expected to attend.

For the sound system of the grandstands and the VIP area, the loudspeaker specialists from Vienna Sound Vienna Light - Gerhard Gutscher GmbH (VSVL) chose Meyer Sound. In the center court, 24 subwoofers (12 700-HP and 12 900-LFC) are placed under the grandstands, 24 MILO are used as main systems, 18 LEOPARD serve the VIP grandstand and 16 M’elodie are used as outfill. The signal distribution and alignment is performed by two Meyer Sound Galileo 616.

Fabian Aschenbrenner from VSVL says, "I have been working with Meyer Sound systems for 11 years now and the extremely linear rendering makes the set-up and the mixing of the events really enjoyable. The extremely punchy sound required for the Beach Volleyball World Championships is achieved with enough headroom."

Good luck to those participating!
